Driven by our desire to give as many people as possible the opportunity to experience the potentials of media technology, and thereby cultivate their literacy and imagination, YCAM offers a variety of on-site training and educational programs focusing on ways of appreciating art for elementary school, junior high school, high school and university students. Please feel free to inquire for more details.
Our expert staff facilitates workshops based on original programs developed at YCAM. Please see the page below for subjects and outlines of feasible workshops.
Each of these programs is a hands-on opportunity for participants to use originally developed devices and systems to familiarize with methods of and rules for utilizing media technology, and study its functions related to society.
Feasible programs include “traveling workshops” conducted at schools by members of our expert staff.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us at the number/address you find at the bottom of this page.
YCAM offers gallery tours around exhibitions at the Center, guided by our expert staff.
In addition to offering explanations of social topics and technical trends that define the backgrounds of the respective works on display, these tours are designed to encourage discussion and exchange of views between participants. In this process, participants discover and develop their own individual methods and abilities of “watching and thinking about art,” and thereby cultivate their skills of criticism and expression.
The roles and functions of YCAM are explained in guided tours around our facilities.
During these tours, participants are introduced to the mechanisms of creating innovative art based on media technology, one of YCAM’s characteristic features, and at once also to our past projects. The Facility Tours are opportunities for visitors to learn about the role of a public cultural institution, and catch up with the latest currents in technology and art.
