Kakushin Nishihara was born in Tokyo and started her music career from making a band and learning various musical instruments. At one time, she got amazed by a Satsuma-Biwa master, Kinshi Tsuruta, and got interested in the traditional device. Kakushin then trained under Satsuma Biwa master, Kinshi Tsuruta, until her teacher’s passed away. She continues to study the instrument while starting to develop her music style, which ranges from classical biwa performances, experimental noise, and also collaborative music projects with other musicians and contemporary artists.
