A learning place for children inside a department store
This is the latest in the “Korogaru Koen” series focusing on the design of play and learning environments that allow children to think and create while playing.
The venue is a department store in the city center of Yamaguchi. Taking advantage of the features of a department store and the surrounding shopping district, the project accepts feedback from various people in response to the children's ideas, to present the playground as a “communication tool” for children to connect to society through their play. The program is part of a project by Yamaguchi City aiming to vitalize the city center by way of art.
