Continually changing dance around continuous strings of motifs

This is a live performance incorporating manifoldly layered, interlinked, and then again separated visuals, music and dance.

Against this backdrop of various continuously changing elements, animal suits, open reels, three-dimensional objects and other rather odd stage props are each used as sequences for filtering out the "phenomenon of dance". Furthermore, a large jack-up screen system, drums, guitars and other acoustic musical instruments, ten projectors and five cameras, and additionally, choreographies worked out in a relay style add to the dramatically changing scenery of motifs illustrated in the course of the show.

Profiles

Study of Live works Baneto

The company was formed in December 1996 by students at Chiba University and initially gave intermittent performances on the street and inside galleries. They changed their name to Study of Live works BANETO in December 1998 and thereafter, produced ambitious work that used dance, music and images as "live work" in the broad sense. They have appeared in numerous dance and performance festivals held in cities throughout the world receiving wide acclaim. In 2000, they won the Prix d'auteur du Conseil général de la Seine-Saint-Denis.
