Goh Uozumi

Artist

Based on the idea of understanding the world as an operating interface, Uozumi has been showing algorithmic installations and live performances as attempts to expand reality and revisit creativity in the network age. Regards everything from autonomously behaving computer programs and devices to human presence in artworks as "heterogeneous components without a central element," and continues to discover their relationships. From this position, he aims to construct artworks as flexible systems incorporating aspects of the human body, time and space defined by existing frameworks, and historical contexts of artistic expression, as environmental information rather than as objects of dependence. Main exhibitions include "F" (2011, solo show at ASK? P), among others. In 2010, he was awarded an Encouragement Prize at the 13th Japan Media Arts Festival for "F - void sample".
