This flat, theater style hall is used for various types of events ranging from dance, live music and other stage performances, to exhibitions of large-scale installations.
The space’s end stage type design creates a sense of unity of stage and audience, so that even visitors in the back rows can enjoy performances at close range. As the flexible incorporation of widescreen video and other state-of-the-art technologies in performances has been a basic premise for the Studio’s design, it was equipped with high-quality audio/video and lighting fixtures. A further characteristic is the depth and width of the stage.
By storing the tiered audience seats in a space under the Studio, the stage can be positioned as needed, or removed altogether to turn the Studio into a flat space for large-scale installations.
Equipped to be compatible with various styles of creative work, Studio A has been attracting attention from artists around the world as a stage for residency work and exhibition across a wide range of artistic genres.
