The "library" as a semipublic space: Launch of a mini radio station
Volume 6 of this series workshop for grown-ups is all about "radio"

In the "meet the artist" workshop series, so-called "collaborators", which are consisted of citizens, work with artists on one specific creative project over the period of one year. Through their long-term collaboration, participants and artists share the process of creative production, and elaborate profound concepts together through studying about related ideas and backgrounds in their activities.
The theme for this sixth installment is "radio". While referring to the function of a library as a public information and contents provider, the project will encourage participants to discuss the diversity of information including visual and acoustic ones. Focusing on the library as a semipublic space, together with audio books and other electronic media, we are planning to set up a mini radio station at YCAM. In the course of the year, attendants will examine the future of information services in public spaces through a range of activities, including different kind of studies, workshops, lectures, the publication of electronic books, etc.
Lecturer Eishi Katsura will give a talk about the purpose and upcoming activities of the "meet the artist" workshop with the aim to drum up participants for the 2011 edition. Katsura will also give a presentation of his previous activities including consultation services for public institutions and archiving work among others.
